Response to MDX Questions

MDX has no waiting list now on the West coast. They are selling at MSRP, USD$34K for the base model going up to $37K with the touring and navi.

The Pilot will number 80,000 units this year (if Honda keeps its promise), so there will not be a shortage unless everyone who wanted the Ody decides to buy the Pilot instead. In a way, the 3 vehicles (MDX, Pilot and Ody) would help Honda meet its vehicle sales and satisfy the demand for that Honda buyers want.

The MDX is rumored to have the 3.8L engine that will be released in the next Acura RL. That should get close to 300hp to compete against the other luxury makes (Lexus and BMW).

Lastly, the Pilot uses Regular unleaded and not Premium unleaded like the MDX suggests. During towing, Honda recommends using Premium to help with power...so, does that mean Ody and Pilot owners are not really getting the 240 horsies as advertised unless they use Premium? Just a thought.
