I personally think this cranky gearshift issue is way overdone. I'd forgotten about it in my excitement to drive the car, and I must say I have yet to have ANY problem with it. It worked intuitively and perfectly for me, and I never gave it a second thought.
That said...my husband got in and his immediate first comment was, "I see what they mean about this gearshift. It's easy to put it in D3 by mistake."
I,however, agree with the Honda engineer quoted in USA Today -- just pull the shift all the way forward before moving it.
Guess I'm a Honda kind of person. (Only cars I've had are Honda Civic, Toyota Corolla and Nissan Quest ... maybe I'm used to Japanese styling). |
