Hi Becca. First off, I believe Kelly had to send out four men on a very dangerous mission. Remo was not one of the four chosen, but he asked Kelly to be included to keep an eye on his brother Romolo who he knew to be a “screw-up” and who he figured was going to desert. But he swore Kelly to secrecy on this. Then, as Romolo explains, while on the mission, Romolo told Remo that what they were doing was crazy and sure death, and they should turn back. Remo says no, they are going to continue on their mission, and keep faith with the lieutenant. The way he expressed this to Romolo momentarily enraged him, and Romolo shot Remo in the back and he returned with the story about being captured by North Koreans, with Remo being shot. There are parallels to the story of Romulus and Remus from Roman Mythology. I’ve just rewatched the scene in which Romolo confesses, but not the entire episode. Nor have I checked out the links Tatia provided to the previous discussion. But I think this is the essence of what happened.
I had no trouble understanding Romolo on my copy of the episode. It probably helps that I grew up around people who talked like-a that.
