Hi!
Here's the last set of Vintage Culp TV Ads I ran across ... ENJOY!!

SKYRIDERS (1976)
A movie with "great location" shots in Greece - much set in the picturesque clifftop area of Meteora - where strange caves and sheer vertical rock structures point to the heavens.
http://www.great-adventures.com/destinations/greece/meteora.html
These clifftops have been home to religious hermits and monasteries for centuries - and a great place for "skyriders" to rescue the kidnapped wife and children of a wealthy businessman (our Bob) - who is aided by his wife's ex-husband James Coburn. (Can you imagine how much fun those two must have had on this set??)

AND Bob had one busy "1979" ...
ROOTS - The Next Generations (1979)
This episode was from the second "Roots" mini-series. Our Bob plays Lyle Pettijohn, a rural farm agent, who ends up working with Alex Haley's father (Dorian Harewood), a professor of agriculture at a small southern college. Pettijohn faces the wrath of the local men in power and fights the status quo as he tries to help black farmers in the area.

MRS. COLUMBO (1979)
Kate Mulgrew (yes, Star Trek's Captain Janeway) stars in this "Is she Columbo's wife or not??" detective series. The series was eventually renamed "Kate Loves A Mystery." Included below are some reviews of the series, which discusses the "Is She or Isn't She?" question. Our Mr. Culp starred in the premiere episode, WORD GAMES, along with Edie Adams and Frederick Forest.
O.K.
Spoiler Alert ahead - if you don't want to know the plot twist, skip this part ....
( Yes, true to form, our Bob is a murderer - well, he hires someone to kill his wife. But in a different sort of twist, the murderer also murders Bob.)

The text of this ad says, "She's the wife of TV's favorite detective - with her own distinctive style of crime solving."

and these quotes from a "Columbo" site about "Mrs. Columbo" ....
"Peter Falk was blunt: 'It was a bad idea. It was disgraceful.' "
and
Wasn't Columbo's Wife Played By Kate Mulgrew?
"No. The official pronouncement of everyone associated with "Columbo" is that the character played by Kate Mulgrew, in the series initially called "Mrs. Columbo," was married to some other cop who happened to also be named Columbo.
"Mrs. Columbo" was the brainchild of NBC entertainment president Fred Silverman, who hoped to carry on a little of the "Columbo" mystique without Columbo, soon after "Columbo" ended its NBC run.. Richard Levinson and William Link regarded the idea as heresy, but Silverman said he'd do it without them. "The magic of Columbo's wife is that you never see her," Levinson protested."

and finally
Women in White (1979)
The only thing I could find on this program was ...
"Soap opera set in a big city Florida hospital where dedication and professionalism vie with jealousy, romance and rivalry among staff members and the newly-appointed Chief of Staff (Susan Flannery), who attempts to run the place despite her personal problems. Initially presented over three consecutive weeks, this miniseries, from the novel by the best-selling author of "Doctors' Wives," later was re-edited into a two-part, four-hour presentation."
"Women in White" starred Susan Flannery, Kathryn Harrold, Gerald Ramey, Aldo Ray, Robert Culp, and Patty Duke Astin (below) among others .... HAS anyone ever seen this one??????
Some "other" "Vintage" items coming soon ....
As always,
Tatia
