Lunch with Mr. Culp

I am a childhood friend of Mr. Culp's four children. His middle son and I went to high school together and have remained best friends ever since. Bob was a kind of surrogate father/mentor/career advisor to me and continues to be to this day.

Unlike the children of many actors, Bob's kids all enjoyed screening his past movies and shows, especially those TV episodes he wrote. In fact, whole sections of dialogue were committed to memory.

I left the site after a public feud with another fan, with whom I have since buried the hatchet, but I have always enjoyed the enthusiasm displayed so amply on this site.

I have, as they say, returned.
