Inherited fashion sense?

Response to Of Living Rooms and Bill Maxwell

Mr. BF -- I got the feeling you were making a joke, or at least overstating the case when you said that Jason had inherited his father's fashion sense; I remember feeling struck by the impression that for such an attractive young man, who was clearly "on his way" as an actor, he tended to dress with an extreme degree of slovenliness, an almost defiant disregard for his personal appearance -- a quote from J.D. Salinger comes to mind: "barring a certain vague technical awareness that he was no longer stark naked" -- and I often wondered if this was in some way a reaction to his father's very definite sense of style and glamour? You would probably know better than I. On the other hand, his younger brother Joseph, who played a small part in that production, as you'll remember, was a rather sharp dresser.

Very interesting info on that episode of TGAH, and the subsequent discussion of the scripts Mr. Culp wrote for that show and those he did for I Spy -- it does seem as though Mr. Culp was trying to make that show into something that it wasn't.

regards,

Dotterer
