Yes, Suite 635 did make it back to the famous PENINSULA HOTEL!!




Ahh! The mysteries and secrets of Suite 635!!

after forgetting his key -- again!!





But .... he said there is no Suite 635 at the Pensinula Hotel!! There is now a Combination Suite 634-636 ...

And I guess that is only fitting and proper, much like retiring the number on a jersey of an illustrious sports legend!!

He wrote:

"The old building in Kowloon exists with a high rise addition positioned in back of the old building.
The sixth floor of the old building is labeled "Music Room" in the elevator.
Room 635 does not exist. Combination Suite 634-636 does."

(along with their famous Foo Dogs*) from Bob's visit to Hong Kong in 2004.
The Foo Dogs seem to have been added somewhere in the past 40 years ...

*Foo Dogs (Imperial Guardian Lion Dogs) are powerful mythic protectors that have traditionally stood in front of Chinese Imperial palaces, temples, emperors' tombs, and government offices (... and at the Peninsula Hotel). "Foo" means 'happiness' in Chinese; but, the term "Foo Dog" and variations of it are not used in Chinese. Instead, they are known as Rui Shi (auspicious lions) or simply Shi (lions)." (Of course, Chuang-Tzu knows all that !!)
