I'm no expert on STAR TREK, but weren't these DVDs given a bit more attention than just a remastering?

To put things into perspective, we just don't know what level of improvement these new sets will offer so perhaps it's unfair to speculate. What IS good is that Image still have faith in the 'saleability' of the series - and the lower price will mean the sets will hopefully find the series some new fans.
