| I find it rather amusing that when people think "slash" means Texas Chainsaw Massacre and Freddy Kruger-type stories involving blood, gore and violence, they can't get there fast enough, but when it involves the depiction of two people in a loving relationship, it's revolting. And you know what? If slash isn't your thing, that's perfectly fine. Don't read it. But using words like "horrendous" and "perversity" to describe a homosexual relationship is pretty much my definition of a homophobe, no matter how much you may protest to the contrary.
I'm not going to waste time explaining the history of slash to you, or the way we use it to interpret and reinvent media. There's no point. Suffice it to say I'm proud of my slash fiction, and I sure as hell don't need you to tell me why you think I'm writing it.
Tatia, I had my doubts about your putting up the link to my LJ post on this forum, but I let it go since you were quite gracious about it - and you remain so. Thank you. However, I think there isn't much point to publicizing my work here any more. Those that are interested in the slash side of fandom can get everything they need from the link you've already posted. Take care.
