Thanks Becca for staying on top of this story for us ...
I found another article out there (most are just copies of the AP article Becca posted) - this one is from the Los Angeles Daily News and has more details.

As things stand right now, the judge ruled against the injunction which would have immediately closed the elephant facility at the L.A. Zoo and stopped construction on the new compound, until the trial on the lawsuit to permanently close these facilities begins on July 1st (which will be Round 2).
The AP article listed John Lewis as the co-plaintiff with Culp in the lawsuit. John Lewis is not suing the L.A. Zoo, he is the current director of the Zoo.
Here are the cast of characters:
Robert Culp and Real Estate Agent Aaron Leider are the plaintiffs in the case.
David Casselman is their lawyer.
John Lewis is the director of the L.A. Zoo.
The city is represented by Deputy City Attorney John Carvalho.
Ruling on the injunction was Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Reginald A. Dunn.
and
Billy, the lone 21-year old Asian elephant still living at the L.A. Zoo.
