He has often mentioned that
The Treasure of Sierra Madre is his all-time favorite. A wonderful film ....
But my
very favorite recommendation of his was for the splendid film
The Bitter Tea of General Yen starring Nils Asther and Barbara Stanwyk. He mentioned the influence of this movie in his DVD commentaries on "The War Lord."
