Just thought all of you would get a kick out of this story.
I write a weekly TV-on-DVD column for www.wdun.com, and produce a full-length entertainment magazine for radio that covers TV-on-DVD extensively, and a ninety-second high-intensity feature on Tuesday morning drive that features audio of the big releases of the week. I've done this for about five years, and I've NEVER gotten the response that I got when I attempted to get review copies of "I Spy."
Sorry, Bill, was the response from Image Entertainment's PR representative. We simply have more media already than we can handle. We'll put you on the list, should someone drop off.
Hm. That's a good PR firm. If they have THAT much on their plate, their must have been stuff lined up for "The Today Show," "Good Morning, America," "The View," ... at least NPR? And surely, the internet reviews would be plentiful. I mean, clearly EVERY outlet clamored for this "I Spy" release, so I'd be all day sifting through it.
Nothing. Anywhere.
I tried contacting Image directly, but was simply forwarded to the same brick wall that I had been in touch with before.
Ah, well. I guess I'll just have to hear from Stefan!
