Response to Nothing to see here...except the new dvds!

Hi Jim,

Thanks for the links to the new I SPY DVD covers. It is interesting that they took off the "newly re-mastered" label on them. And I can't say much for the artwork they used on the back covers ... BUT .... there IS something new there, Jim!!

On the original "Culp Collection" Commentary discs, Bob did "episode specific" commentaries on the second set - for The War Lord, Court of the Lion, Home to Judgment, and the very interesting ones for Magic Mirror.

But the commentaries on the first set were more general reminiscences - not episode specific. WELL, on these new discs, So Long Patrick Henry, The Loser, and The Tiger (all on Season 1) are all listed as "with commentary."

So perhaps that gentleman who attended one of Bob's Autograph Shows was correct, and he did record new commentaries for these episodes.

Hopefully his reminiscences on the original "Culp Collection - Set 1" are included somewhere. They were excellent. And I wonder if the cool "Easter Egg" for Tatia will still be included, hidden as it originally was?

I must admit I get the feeling regarding the new DVDs, something akin to when a dreadful movie is about to be released, and the studios refuse to let the critics see it at a pre-screening, worried about what their reaction and reviews will be.

I hope I'm wrong here, but that's what the total lack of promotion for these new DVDs sound like.

BUT ... if there "are" new Culp Commentaries included for those episodes, that would be a real plus!!

We'll just have to wait and see - it seems.

Thanks again, Jim ...

As always,

Tatia
