Response to Fantastic Find!

Hi back Mona,

Glad you enjoyed the Yearbook photos.

I don't think I've ever seen the pole-vaulting photo of Bob that you were referring to ...

We did post some photos of Bob pole-vaulting in "To Florence With Love" and one of Bill pole-vaulting at college. You can find them at (just scroll down):

Also in that posting, there are some quotes from the 1967 Ed Goodgold book, "I SPY -- Robert Culp and Bill Cosby -- TV's Swift and Swinging Spies" about Bob's pole-vaulting career after high school.

"Besides being an actor, he is also a director, a writer, and a one-time California pole-vault prodigy ....
As a student at Berkeley High School, and later at Stockton Junior College, Bob's great interest was track in general and pole-vaulting in particular. At seventeen, he was using the old-style bamboo pole to soar up and over the thirteen foot mark, topping the prep-school records in the state. He was aspiring to a berth on the U.S. Olympic team when his interest in dramatics deepened and finally propelled him to the University of Washington."

If you can, please post a copy of that pole-vaulting photo you mentioned. I imagine there are a "few" people out there who would like to see it. Perhaps, Bulwer-Lytton might have something stored away in her photo files, too.

As always,

Tatia
