Hi!
Just saw this one on eBay and thought I'd mention it. The auction is only for the next 18 hours (but I imagine it will be re-listed if it doesn't sell.)
It's a show that doesn't come up too often, and if you haven't seen it, I highly recommend it. It's a good one!!
The auction is for the pilot episode of
THE OUTLAWS called
THIRTY A MONTH. This hour long western series starred Don Collier and Barton MacLane as a Deputy Marshall and Marshall. Look at some of the actors associated with this show ....
http://us.imdb.com/title/tt0053527/fullcredits#cast
and Hugo Friedhofer did some of the music for the show also.
This was on in 1960, a year after TRACKDOWN ended - and Bob plays a very un-Hoby like character. It's
very well-done.
Here's the synopsis:
"In this pilot episode, trail boss Rance Hollister (Steve Forrest) has saved for ten years to buy two sections of land. At trail's end, he collects his wages, quits his job, and heads to the bank to get the $4,000 he has saved, only to discover that the bank clerk has absconded with the bank's monies. The shock of losing everything he has worked for sends him over the edge."
Thirty A Month is what a cowhand earned. Bob and Warren Oates are two of the trailhands who work for Rance and how they are caught up in his dilemma and troubles.
This is a VHS tape ....and the seller's feedback rating is 100%. He's asking for $9.75 plus $3.00 shipping.
