Harry O

That 66 episode was an interesting preview of Jansen's TV series "Harry O", in the mid-70's, where he played a gruff, retired police officer with a bullet still in his back who came home to his "close" neighbor Farrah Fawcett Major. He lived on the beach and worked on fixing up his boat.

I really enjoyed that series. It was a shock when he died so young.
