American Life, the cable channel that plays "I SPY" (I have no idea where this channel is available - it is based in D.C., but not shown here) .... has this quick and cute promo on their website for "SECRET AGENT WEDNESDAYS" - a montage featuring Kelly, Scotty, and the Girl and "Men" from U.N.C.L.E. (with a bit of Tatia, too!)

and in the "Too Good To Be True" category .... the gentlemen I mentioned a few weeks back who had the entire episode of I SPY's "The Tiger" (and several episodes of "Have Gun Will Travel" and "Danger Man" etc.) posted on "YouTube" - well, he must have run into some licensing/copyright permission issues, because they are now all gone.

But ProFilms still offers many "I SPY" episodes for downloading through "Google Video" for $1.99. They now have 26 episodes available .... with very short previews included. For anyone out there who would love to see some "I SPY's," this is a terrific opportunity and a great way to sample some episodes before purchasing the DVDs ....

and finally, a few months ago I recommended a YouTube "Outer Limits" offering. It's almost 10 minutes long, with lots of clips and short commentaries with Robert Culp and Harlan Ellison. Harlan Ellison describes our Bob's performance as "Trent" in "Demon With a Glass Hand" as "astonishing." We, of course, agree with the always astute Mr. Ellison!!

Sorry, that WAS the new link for the "Demon" videoclip, as of a week ago!!

Since GOOGLE acquired "YouTube," they have apparently been very stringent in removing any videos that could have copyright infringement issues.

That wonderful "YouTube" site that had all of "I SPY's" THE TIGER, and episodes of "Danger Man".... "Wanted - Dead or Alive" .... "Have Gun Will Travel" .... "Wild, Wild West" .... "Cheyenne" .... "Kolchak, The Night Stalker" has also sadly been totally removed.

I hope you see this posting, since it is coming a bit later than the others in this thread ....

There was recent article in the Washington Post, about some controversy with YouTube-Google about a videoclip of a famous model from Brazil and some "steamy footage" with her boyfriend. A Brazilian court first ordered YouTube to block the clip in Brazil - and then reversed its ruling ...





Later in the article, it said:


"YouTube also deleted nearly 30,000 files after a Japanese entertainment trade group complained, and through negotiations with leading U.S. copyright holders agreed to deploy an audio-signature technology that can spot specific clips."


Apparently that's what happened to all those great videoclips with "copyrighted" connections (including that "Outer Limits" - "Demon With A Glass Hand" one. ) Google is quite concerned about lawsuits resulting from copyright infringement.

The article also said:

"When it bought YouTube in November, Google set aside shares now worth about $220 million as a financial cushion to cover losses or possible legal bills for the frequent copyright violations on YouTube's video-sharing site."

So I guess, we won't be seeing any more of those great videoclips of old shows on YouTube any longer!
