I came across this press release tonight. Please read down for further information about another one as well!

Largest Production in AudioBook history now available as download.

June 25 2007

The largest production in the history of AudioBooks is now available for download at Audible.com.

"Hard Rock Lovers" narrated by Rod Taylor and performed by Robert Culp, Russ Tamblyn, George Chakiris, Barbara Leigh, and Kevin McCarthy, is now availible at audible.com

This 3hr. 33min. mystery/thriller is dramatized with film quality effects and music, making it an "audio-movie".

It has a supporting cast of 22 actors and recorded in a state of the art studio.

This is the first time Russ Tamblyn and Acadamy Award actor George Chakiris have worked together since "West Side Story". Rod Taylor worked with Kevin McCarthy on two movies in the past, "A Gathering of Eagles" and "Hotel".

Taylor and Robert Culp worked together in "Sunday in New York".

"Hard Rock Lovers", written by film director Paul Kyriazi, is the story of a man that goes on the hunt for a rock star, who is thought to be dead for twenty years. He sinks into a world of crime to find his goal. In flashback, we see the rise and fall of a rock star and ask ourselves, is he still alive?

Now, in clicking on the link to Mr. Kyriazi's website, I found this (hope this is not old news to everyone here!):

Mr. Kyriazi writes: "In June of '06 I direct my novel "McKnight's Memory" in audio-book form. It stars Robert Culp, Nancy Kwan, Don Stroud, Henry Silva, Alan Young, David Hedison, and Edd "Kookie" Byrnes. Narrated by Frank Sinatra Jr. It's a mystery/thriller about a CIA agent Culp who loses his memory and is pursued by both the CIA and the Mafia. His lover (Nancy Kwan) might be part of the conspiracy."

Has anyone heard of or purchased this? It sounds awesome and I definitely plan to buy it when I can afford it!

All the best,
Becca

Sorry for the false alarm, but I would like to hear from someone who has heard either of these audio books. Thank you! Becca

Culp AudioBooks

Hi Becca,

Yes, I bought "Hard Rock Lovers" ... errr - ummm, well let's just say I highly recommend our Mr. Culp's "earlier" audiobooks.

In his audiobooks, Bob does all the characters and they have the "feel" as if he is reading a story to "you" (with lots of great voices thrown in) - whereas "Hard Rock Lovers" has a full cast of talented actors and is more like listening to an audio play. It all depends if you care for the story or not ... the cast is definitely great.

Mr. Kyriazi is quite big into websites and selling his books on eBay. You will find "Hard Rock Lovers" under "Robert Culp" on eBay almost anytime. He did write something about directing the different stars who were in "Hard Rock Lovers." The audiobook came out awhile ago, apparently the "download" is something new.

"McKnight's Memory" DOES sound interesting -

" .... a mystery/thriller about a CIA agent Culp who loses his memory and is pursued by both the CIA and the Mafia. His lover (Nancy Kwan) might be part of the conspiracy."

One of Mr. Kyriazi's site said it was originally to be released in Jan. 2007, but I just checked on his "xanga.com" site and he had this update information listed - and a photo of the CD cover.

May 24, 2007 - McKnight's Memory

The first test discs have been reviewed and now we are putting in some additional sound effects and music. Depending on our mixing schedules, the project could be ready to duplicate in July.

Also if you go to "September 15, 2005" on this site - there is a section with several photos on "Directing Robert Culp" in "Hard Rock Lovers" (and the other cast members).

and another version of the same article - without the photos ...

If anyone hears anything more on "McKnight's Memory," please let us know.

As always,
Tatia
