One of the Great, Neglected TV Movies

Hey, guys - do any of you happen to have a copy -- or know someone who does -- of the uncut version of THE LAST OF THE GOOD GUYS? It was a CBS TV movie shown in 1978, written and co-directed by Theodore (The President's Analyst) Flicker, it starred our man Bob, plus Dennis Dugan, Jonathan Harris, Larry Hagman and Marlyn Mason, it has an un-freaking-believable Coplandesque score by Dana Kaproff, and it's one of the best and most unusual TV movies I've ever seen, crossing genres effortlessly -- kind of a cop thing, kind of an intimate human drama, kind of a farce-comedy -- but it manages because the tone is assiduously maintained, and it's written and played for real stakes. I would LOVE to have this one in my collection. (Those of you who don't know it would love it too. )

If it sweetens the quest any, if I can get a grade-scale 8-to-10 copy (i.e. one worth duplicating), I'll burn DVDs of it for any of you who PayPal me three bucks to take care of the postage, the disk and the case (as long as I don't get overwhelmed by requests, but I doubt that'll happen). And if I find it on my own in the interim, I'll let you know, and the offer will still stand. This one really is too good not to share, and it's up there with OUTRAGE and A CRY FOR HELP as having the best of Culp's non-Kelly performances.

(Oh, I should mention ... I'm looking for Outrage and A Cry for Help too ... though bootlegs of the former seem to proliferate on the internet here and there, so that one's not so hard to pin down.)

Hello, John,

I have not been able to find "Last of", either. If you do find a good DVD, please add me to the list of those who would wish for a copy. If I do find one, I'll place a notice on the list here. Your description is quite exciting and I'd really love to see this movie.

It's been wonderful finding so many of Culp's performances! Just makes me eager to find them all!

Mona
