I just checked over on YouTube to see if anything new might be up ... and there definitely is!!

Two Culp COLUMBOS - "Death Lends a Hand" and "The Most Crucial Game" are both up - and divided in 8 parts - each about 10 minutes long. Since programs like these don't ever seem to last too long on YouTube (because of copyright infringement issues), I would suggest you check these out as quickly as you can!! (Want me to tell you who the "cool" killers are .... ??? )

THANKS for the info about "Crucial Game", which I had not yet ever seen. I just watched it and Culp was great. Not that much into his mustache, but did enjoy his taking off his shirt.

As for the plot, it seems to me that at the end all Columbo can prove is that Culp didn't make the second phone call from his sky booth at the stadium, but there still is ZERO evidence that he killed Eric. Columbo just has some circumstantial evidence, nothing to truly connect Culp to the murder. But, I guess back in 1972 that was all one needed to make a good murder mystery.

I agree - the ending of "Most Crucial Game" was stretched a bit - with the gonging clock - but hey, it's COLUMBO and our Bob does guilty, guilty, guilty so well! (Hope I didn't give anything away here !! ) I did think the murder weapon was very "cool" and innovative, though. The moustache wasn't so bad, but I'll pass on that ice cream suit ....

And speaking of moustaches - we did these "Bob Moustache Collages" awhile ago - they've been sitting gathering dust in the Loring Photography archives. So it looks like the perfect time to dust them off and bring them out again. (They fall under the same category as Bob wearing Hats, I'm afraid ... )







OF COURSE, there is always an exception to the rule
.... and Hannie Caulder's "Cool" Thomas Luther Price and Mexican Kelly sure fit that bill ...

In many of the I Spy episodes Mr. Culp is so suave and stylish, which is a very handsome look for him, but I must admit I like it when he is allowed to be a little scruffy and rough around the edges and 5 o'clock shadowy (pre-dating the Don Johnson trend by about 20 years)

Which reminds me, I need to post here some time my thoughts on I Spy versus Miami Vice.

Anyway, I liked the unshaven look in episodes like Tag You're It, Blackout, and even Home to Judgement. It was a pleasant departure from Kelly's classically-cool couture.
