Bill Cosby: "Foreign Countries"

Russ Conway remembered and Bulwer-Lytton identified the Cosby routine “Foreign Countries” from the LP “It’s True! It’s True!”. I was hesitant to provide a link to it because of its length. It clocks in at around 14 minutes. However I have changed my mind, which I think I’m allowed to do (correct me if I’m wrong).

The monologue is all about the challenges of working in foreign countries while making I Spy. Cosby rambles a bit and there is some banter with the audience, but I think anyone who hangs in there for the whole thing will be amply rewarded. As Russ Conway pointed out, Bill never is able to come up with the name of Santorini Island. The audience is no help. Even the guy who claims to be from Greece.

Incidentally Becca, I finally watched that “Giada in Paradise: Santorini” show you alerted us to a couple of months ago. I recorded it and it sat on the DVR (along with other stuff I haven’t got around to like “The Seven Samurai” and episodes of “The Banana Splits Adventure Hour”) until recently. It was more about food than the geography of the island (not surprising since it was broadcast on The Food Network and not The Travel Channel) and, in a sense, more about Giada herself than anything else. I did enjoy watching her crush grapes.

Here is the link to “Foreign Countries”:
