Tatia's Robert Culp Collage...

Hello again from Germany!

Dear Tatia,

it's a wonderful collage of all "our" Robert Culps that you showed in your Robert Culp birthday post a few days ago. Now my question is - just for personal interest - from what film is the picture of a white haired Robert Culp in the second like, the second picture from the right side? I think Culp looks a little like Peter Graves from "Mission: Impossible" (the new series) on that photo.

I would be happy to hear from you...

Paully the Kid

P.S. I'm still working on the "Apollo" review that I promised. I hope to complete it this weekend, but things get a little more difficult as I have to watch some scenes in English to make the review more "authentic".

An Answer and A Question .....

August 22 2007, 10:12 PM

Hi !!

Glad to know you are still with us, Paully.

Here's your answer ....

Yes, a very cool look ....

And of course Jessica Fletcher (Angela Lansbury) was as savvy as Columbo in figuring out "whodunit"!!
Want to guess who the murderer was ??

~~~~~~
And a question for everyone .... ??
What's up for our next episode review .... LAYA or THE BEAUTIFUL CHILDREN?? (We've already done "Medarra Block" and "Let's Kill Karlovassi" from Volume 13.) I'm going to try to make time to watch whichever one it is ahead.
As always,
Tatia
P.S. Looking forward to your APOLLO review, Paully, whenever you get it finished.
An Answer to a Question
August 23 2007, 12:34 PM
Since you asked Tatia. As one who prefers saving the best for last, let’s review “The Beautiful Children” first and follow it up with “Laya”. I hope I’m not giving anything away if I say that “Children” is one of my least favorite episodes, though I will watch it again in the naïve hope that it makes more sense this time. “Laya” on the other hand is one of the more memorable episodes for me. And it has that great wordless bouzouki sequence that helped win Mr. Hagen his Emmy.
Jimmy
So fire up those DVD players, everyone!
AND I agree with everything you just said .... I hope "the one above" will help us get through this episode!
As always,
Tatia
Started watching it...
August 31 2007, 8:00 AM
With a 2-week newborn in the house (who we were going to name Alexander Scott if it was a boy, no joke, but it turned out to be a girl, so Michelle Louise it is) I haven't had much opportunity to watch anything all the way through in one sitting, but I tried to start "Beautiful Children..."
Thoughts -- Culp looks especially bored in the prologue. The director should have yanked that coffee cup outta his hand, his playing with it is downright distracting!
Clearly the episode seemed short, as it begins with the rambling story of chocolates and alcohol and all that....all that stuff is good, but Culp's wardrobe seems a little outre in this one....
I like how, when Cosby wants to know if their cover is blown, Culp says "Well, let's walk!" -- almost self-parody of all the scenes they have of Kelly and Scott roaming around exotic locales with no real purpose save showing the exotic locales off...This time, they get rid of any pretense -- "Let's walk!" And sure enough, they walk, and walk, around nice locations...
And I always like scenes where they watch surveillance footage in dark rooms with projectors going...
I figured it was luck I stopped where I did, as everyone seems to think this episode goes south real fast....but I'll get back to it...
