O.K., here's another of the Culp videos I've unearthed on YouTube.
It's an episode from Who's the Boss? called "Gambling Jag" (1989). This was Tony Danza's "Nanny" show, and the most significant thing about this episode, in which Bob guest stars, is that he hooks up with Katherine Helmond who plays Judith Light's mother.
Ten years later, Bob and Katherine would team up again for guest appearances as Debra's parents on Everybody Loves Raymond.
O.K. 2 quick notes -
1) As always, I have no idea how long these videos will be up on YouTube, so view them as soon as you can.
And
2) .... Please don't shoot the messenger! I've never watched "Who's the Boss?" And though Tony Danza does have his own unique friendly-guy kind of charm, after watching this episode, I don't know if I could manage another one.
O.K. here's ....
WHO'S THE BOSS? "Gambling Jag"
(I'm adding a video clip of Bob and Katherine in "Everybody Loves Raymond" at the end.)
Part 1
Part 2
Part 3
AND
Bob and Katherine Helmond briefly in an EVERYBODY LOVES RAYMOND videoclip "The Christmas Picture."
And here are the direct links to YouTube for all the videos.
Thanks for tracking down this on Youtube. I'm buying a lot of Culp items on the internet, old TV movies and the like, but it's nice to watch some things for free that I really don't feel the need to personally own. I wasn't a fan of "Who's the Boss" so never saw this episode when it originally ran. I have this slight inkling that Culp's incredibly handsome Jason character had a winning hand at poker, and knew it, and yet let his opponents win because he was, indeed, a nice guy, and let them think they had outwit him when they really hadn't. This isn't shown, of course, but Culp was so cool and so much more street savvy than Danza and Crew it's just how I fill in the plot.
I wonder if Culp did like Katherine Helmond; his smiles at her really seemed very genuine.
