Hi!
While our Bob has been busy with The Greatest American Hero (upcoming comic, movie, etc. at Comic-con in CA), our guy Bill has been on the opposite coast celebrating
BEN'S CHILI BOWL 50th Anniversary in DC.
BEN'S CHILI BOWL is a DC institution and one of Cosby's all-time favorite places to eat. There's even a sign posted in the restaurant that proclaims "Bill Cosby is the only person who eats for free." So he was in DC this week to help celebrate their 50th anniversary at the Lincoln Theater, with the great Roberta Flack providing the music. There was also a street festival in front of the restaurant and a musical tribute at a jazz club to round-out the festivities.
Ben's Chili Bowl recently expanded and opened a second place at the new Washington Nationals Baseball Park. Their famed half-smokes
really are terrific, though Tatia didn't add the chili!!
The photo on the right is Bill at a taping of Tim Russert's "Take Two" of "Meet the Press"
last October, when they brought in a platter of Ben's chili-covered half-smokes for himl.

Here are 2 short videos of of the events and Bill discussing Ben's half-smokes ....

And speaking of Bill (a.k.a. our very own Alexander Scott),
this man is totally indefatigable ... the schedule he keeps is just amazing!!
Here he is looking very dapper in a tuxedo hosting the Jackie Robinson Foundation at the Waldorf Astoria in March 2008.

And Dad and lovely daughter Evin at the opening of her new store "pb&Caviar" in NYC in early August.
(That's certainly a step above those "Court of the Lion" sandwiches - peanut butter, jam, mayonnaise, and Swiss cheese)
... hey, between Ben's Chili half-smokes and those Court of the Lion sandwiches - maybe that's what gives Scotty his energy??

And fooling around with Tim Wakefield of the Boston Red Sox, when Cosby threw out the first pitch at Fenway Park for the Red Sox/Texas Rangers Game on August 14th.

And then there's Cosby's "Concert Schedule" .... Whew!!! I'm exhausted just looking at it ...

And if you have a minute, here is a lovely piece written by Erika Cosby called "My Father, My Teacher" for Father's Day (with some photos by Erinn Cosby). She discusses her Dad, her family, and the importance of education and the work being done by
HELLO FRIEND, the Ennis William Cosby Foundation which continues his dream.
