Always searching around for the FORUM. Nothing much up on eBay of late, but I have run across some videos for your viewing pleasure.
First up (and thanks to the wonders of YouTube), you can now watch SANTA'S SLAY!! Why you would want to watch it is beyond me, though??? (Mona, I think you were the only one who liked this one, right ...?)
SANTA'S SLAY came out in 2005 ( with a well-known cast in cameos and real parts - our Bob, James Caan, Fran Drescher, Dave Thomas, Saul Rubinek, etc.) ... for those of you who missed our earlier "in-depth" discussion on this film , just remember that if you scramble the letters in S A N T A, you get S A T A N. (Ohh, heavens!!) The film stars Bill Goldberg, the wrestler, as a very grumpy Santa, a.k.a. the son of Satan. He's not a nice fella. Throw in lots of violence (no, it did not come off as tongue-in-cheek to me) and a few adult-themed scenes, and a story that doesn't make a whole lot of sense, AND you have one of the most dreadful Christmas movies ever made. Yep, it wins out over "Silent Night, Deadly Night - Part 3" (which probably ranks #2 on the most dreadful list.) And it's not the film to show if Uncle Harry and Aunty Alta stop over next Christmas for some egg nog and cookies. For his own good, Bob should just not be allowed to make - or go near - any more Christmas movies ever!!!
From SANTA'S SLAY
Here is Bob in his Christmas bathrobe. No wait ... this is his "good" outfit.
Because here he is in his other "Angel" outfit ...
(think Norwegian "Good Humor" guy meets the Stay-Puff Marshmallow Man from "Ghostbusters").
To top off the dreadfulness of this movie, the segments on YouTube have these running numbers across the top, that are guaranteed to drive you buggy. It comes in 8 parts, and as I mentioned, this is the "adult" version, not the one shown on TV a few years back.
Here's the link to the 1st part ... you'll have to navigate the rest for yourself.
and for the second half of your double-feature ....
About a year ago, DR. QUINN's " Great American Medicine Show" was up on YouTube. This is an excellent episode, where Bob plays Doc Eli, the owner of a patent medicine show. In actuality, he is a Civil War surgeon haunted by his past, who has sought solace in the "elixir" he's been selling.
Bob puts in a powerful performance. I had never watched "Dr. Quinn" (not my cup of tea), and was quite surprised at the quality of this episode.
Well, the links that we mentioned last year have all been taken down, but fortunately some enterprising person has put up these new ones. And these can be embedded, also, which the last ones didn't allow.
As with all things YouTube, watch as soon as you can, you never know how long things will remain up ....
These are not the clearest of videos, but if you have never seen this show (or would like to see it again), it is well worth watching.
DR. QUINN, MEDICINE WOMAN "The Great American Medicine Show" (1993) (in 5 parts).
(Give them a minute to load - and they seem to clear up more as they play.)
