Hi Everyone,
I'm back - long assignment, but a girl has to do, what a ... etc.
I couldn't get a decent computer connection while I was away , so I have been catching up on all the postings since my return.
Loved the "Veiled Threats" Quiz, B-L. So glad girl spies aren't using the old Mata Hari get-up these days .... it must have gotten quite chilly on those Alaska and northern Canada assignments.
And what an intriguing topic, Mona, "Cool Kelly or Not?" I'll be adding something there later on.
O.K. I return bearing gifts ... here's a little something for your viewing enjoyment.
Our Bob appeared on lots of quiz and game shows over the years - $100,000 Pyramid, The Match Game, Stump the Stars-Pantomime Quiz, Password, Hollywood Squares, Celebrity Bowling, etc. etc.
One show that he appeared on several times was Tattletales starring the charming Bert Convy. It was a game show where husbands and wives were asked somewhat personal questions and their spouses were to guess how they answered. Three different celebrity couples appeared each week.
According to the sites I could find, Bob appeared with Mrs. #4, Sheila Sullivan, twice, and once with Mrs. Culp #5, Candace Faulkner.
Here are two segments from his 2nd appearance with Sheila from August, 1974.
The first set of three has a little fuzzy section running across the bottom of screen - it's well-worth watching through it. The second group is fine.
O.K. here goes .... with the direct link below each.
(Remember since this is from YouTube, watch as soon as you can,
you never know how long these will stay up.) ENJOY!!!
From what I could find, Robert also appeared on Tattletales with Sheila in May, 1974 along with Christopher & Lynda Day George and Gary & Barbara Crosby - and with Candace in late September of 1982 along with Peter Brown and ? and Joe Sharkey & Marcia Wallace. Hopefully this person will be posting more segments on YouTube in the future.
As always,
Tatia
P.S. Does everyone know what tomorrow is ?????

I believe it is the anniversary of: SO LONG PATRICK HENRY dazzling the airwaves on the Peacock network and thus launching the best two spies on television. I'm not sure what the appropriate gift is for the 44th anniversary. (It might be something in styrofoam.)
Thanks, Tatia, those are priceless. I completely understand Sheila's answer to the first question--if you were married to Robert Culp, what would there be left to fantasize about? He is the fantasy.
Great find, and THANKS for sharing, but unfortunately two of the show segments did not come up already. But, I got to watch the others. If hair length got points, Bob would earn his audience section about 5000 dollars! This was a good, slow moving game, but fun to watch. However, Pat Herrington seems to be as moody as Bob can be!
I do hope the later Tattletale shows in 1982 comes up on YouTube. I find it a bit interesting that Bob put himself out in public so willingly, sharing aspects of his and his wife's life, when nowadays, you can't really get a smile out of him when you meet him at a fan affair. If only he was as friendly now as he appeared to be on Tattletales! Oh, well!
Great minds think alike. Here's what was rolling around in my brain, Mona:
You've got to hand it to Culp. Knowing what we do about him, I'd say it's very likely that he made these appearances for public-relations purposes and bitterly resented both the inanity of the program and the intrusion into his personal life. Yet you'd never guess that to look at him, all charm and jokes and affability. When the questions take a prurient turn--which they do almost at once--it's clear that the object of the show is to get viewers imagining the sexual habits of celebrities.
Which doesn't mean that I didn't enjoy watching, just that it's very out of character for our man Culp. Sheila says at one point that he doesn't have any hang-ups, but that doesn't mean he enjoys having his private life turned into fodder for speculation. Ah, the price of fame!
I had the same problem with two of the links; you may want to try these: Tattletales, A2 (first show, part 2) and Tattletales, B3 (second show, part 3).
Regards--

Thanks for the those links. They worked great and I got to see those other show segments. Great fun! One wonders just exactly how sloppy Bob really is. Kelly was a tidy fellow in "I Spy", and packed his suitcases quite nicely.
