Bryan Datillo Fired!

Though the show has yet to confirm it, Soap Opera Digest has learned
that BRYAN R. DATTILO (Lucas) has been let go from Days of Our Lives.
Dattilo, who has been in Salem for eight years, will exit early this
spring.

I hope that is not true!! Lucas needs to stay!

where is this statement coming from? If it's in the current issue of Digest then it would have been all over the place by now. Next week's issue won't be out at least until Wednesday and I didn't see anything on the Soap Opera Digest website. Where exactly are you hearing this from?

I'm not sure if I believe this. Like the person above said, if it was in the current SOD, it would have already been out and it's still too early for next week's issue. I haven't looked on the SOD website, but do they even report breaking news? I sent off an e-mail anyway, but I don't know if I'll get a reply.

BTW, would you mind providing a link to where it was originally reported?

Do you really think they would announce that he would be leaving this spring....I mean that's so far away. In the past when actors have been fired, they were phased out quickly and not over a several month period.

It sounds like something that may have been written when Datillo was written off the show in 2001 ... at that time he had been with Days for eight years.

Bryan was on Days from 93-2001 and then he was let go. That is 8 years. He returned in 2002.

That was an old article Gena was looking at from 2001.

in 1993 he was at my local mall signing autographs so that is at least 11 years that i know of

i was really getting tired of this dimera/brady storyline and i thought e.j. would be killed off unfortunately he wasn't and sami married her rapist (not cool at all) but now making lucas the shooter and firing him is very cruel and i will no longer watch days, i only stay tuned in to find out if e.j. would get caught for shooting john, the glove crimes but he didn't and yet no one seems to care anymore and with lucas leaving there is no reason for me and my friends to continue watching it. i guess i'll return to one life to live.
