Contracts protect the show/studio not the actor. After every thirteen week cycle any actor can be fired. Notice that all the actors fired last year had months and even years left on their contracts. So nothing is sacred.
Thaao Penghlis (Tony) has not been fired by DAYS. It is true, Penghlis just signed a two year contract with the show when he returned in May. Penghlis has reported that Tony would not be seen for a while, he would disappear, concluding the island story. Never fear, Tony will grace our screens again in the future.
I have the new sod and it says nothing about a days star being out. Are you sure you have the right mag? As far as I know 5 or 6 cast aways on the island are not making it back. Prob victor, cassie, tony, and a couple others.
I think it is a travesty if Tony leaves Days. He is the only villain on the show. The show is really going downhill and we are watching Belle whining everyday, Jan/shawn/Mimi/Rex/Phillip etc saying practically the same lines everyday. Why is Shawn leaving me blah...blah..
We need the villains in Days. If any actors should be gone from the show, it should be the actors previously mentioned. The possible only way I could accept Tony leaving is if Days would bring back Stefano, Peter Blake, Benji Dimera etc. Someone to be the matriarch of the Dimera family.
P.S I think Days should also keep Colin Murphy on the show too. Give his character a storyline.
i went to walmart tonight and in line i seen " soap opera WEEKLY" and it says tony is leaving the show but corday did say "tony never REALLY leaves us". "he will be back again but for now he is leaving."
so there you have it ...it had john on the the cover as well as jack and jen talking about days' erupts. plus it had marlena and tony on the cover as well if that helps.
but there is a whole new chapter for tony and his plan's when he returns whenever that is...i bet by the time summer rolls around again he will be back.
