Someone Has To Remember

I posted this question on Chills board and got no replies.Someone has to remember several years ago when the daytime writers where on strike for a couple of months.Days hired outsiders to write for the show and they ended several long dragged out stories. I know they did a really good job but I can't remember what was going on at the time. I'm sure anyone on here could do a better job than these writers now are doing. I wish there was something we could do other than stop watching.

I haven't watched Days for a long length of time so I have no idea when the writers went on strike but perhaps Corday could create a reality show where writers vie for a spot on the writing team and have their storyline incorporated into the show.

I might be wrong on this but it seems like it was a long time ago when Kim and Shane were on and they did a whole show that was entirely flashbacks so they wouldn't have to write any new lines.

Writers' Strike

I'm a bit fuzzy about this but there was a long strike back in the late 80s or so. All I remember is the million Marlena clones on Stefano's Caribbean island. Deidre had been off the show for awhile. I think Stefano lured John to the island and that's when we kept catching glimpses of 'Marlena'. Benjy Dimera was involved, too, I think. I just remember throughout the whole strike that the show was terrible and very dragged out. I couldn't wait for the 'real' writers to return.
