I could'nt believe that Philip/Belle, Shawn/Jan actually went through with it today. It made me sick to watch. I kept hoping that it was another dream. Blech!!!!!

I haven't even seen todays episode (I TIVO it) and already I am about ready to puke. I think today and tomorrow my FF button on my remote will see just as much action as Shawn/Belle/Phil/Jan have seen. LOL

Why is anyone surprised, LOOK WHO IS WRITING THE SHOW. The way NO COUPLE is happy, and how the wrong people have sex. Then there is Mimi, having an abortion, not because she was raped, the baby would be severely ill, or she was not capable of caring for a child, because she wanted to keep her boyfriend, a boyfriend she did not even give a chance to have a say in the matter. Of course, the only reason the abortion occurred was to blackmail Mimi, and keep JER's pet on the show. There is Mickey, who is now a pathetic, dottering fool, all done for sophmoric laughs. This is a show the new hero Patty Pathetic slugged Hope twice, for her own good. I show were all the women are vulgar, witchy, bimbos, or pathetic and clingy. A show were older actors were first fired, then now back are rarely on the show. It was bad enough the way the show was forcing teens at the expense of everyone else, now even the teens are being perverted. When things are not vulgar, they are mindnumbling stupid, as the island, a very bad copy of the worst of 50's D Grade movies. JER is making Ed Woods seem like a genius, and award winning. Also, even worse is that the show is repetative and boring. For the life of me I cannot see how NBC keeps this hack on. The man has the worst rated, and least taken serious soap ever, and they let him destroy an industry icon like DAYS. It just makes no sense. I wonder how they will react now that the Butcher of Daytime has not only alienated the older viewers, whom they apparent care less about, but now are alienating the lusted after teen demographics -- through Mimi's abortion, and now what is to happen between Belle and Philip, Shawn and Jan, after Shawn and Belle vowed to remain chaste until marriage.

I think it is really disapointing. The writers need to realize that younger people are watching and that the message they are sending is horid. First Mimi aborts a child without really thinking out all of the options and then Belle sleeps with Phillip becuase he loves her when she obviously does not love him, and secondly Belle really loved Shawn and she wanted to wait so it appears that she is just sleeping with Phillip as a revenge for Shawn and becuase she is willing to settle for Phillip as Shawn doesn't want her. There is no love from Belle for Shawn and yet they are both having sex to prove a point. BOOOOOOOOOO to the writer's bad choice. This soap has always relied on a strong love connection and Belle and Shawn's story line is just a cheap sex scandal, based on a head injury, I have stopped watching for the next 4 months at least I will keep reading this site but I will not watch another show until someone does something to fix this I am VERY VERY DISAPOINTED!!!!

In a way, I am glad that J&J are not on for I hate to see what the writers would do to this couple. They certainly are not giving the Shelle fans what they want and according to NBC that is their main focus. If they do the Shelle fans this way, I do not care to see what would be done to J&J and their fans.

that for the past 2 years, Corday and company have begged the Shelle fans to please wait a bit longer. Heck they were saying it as recent as April. The purity storyline whether you find it realistic or not, is not the issue, the issue is the total character destruction and the begging of the fanbase to please hang in there. It's an important story to tell is what we were told and we need to tell it is what we were told. It will be worth it in the end. Yes, thank you, it's worth in the end. Despite what some might think, Shelle being together in the end, is NOT THE POINT. The point is they just threw away an entire 2 year storyline that was pleaded to be very important and this couple was very important only to have it thrown away along with whom these characters ARE for the sake of one JER's contrived plots.

Ironically, Jan was supposed to leave in August. My question is, if she was to leave in August and this sex was planned out from the beginning, exactly HOW would Shawn and Jan have had sex in October if Jan would've already been gone?

Plain and simple, JER wanted to keep Jan and HEather on the show. I'm laying dollars to donuts it WAS supposed to be Shelle being their first time together, but JER HAD to keep Jan on the show and the ONLY way to do that was to pull of this garbage. I have news for him, as far as I'm concerned, Jan and Philip are no longer redeemable in my eyes especially Jan. I don't really give a rats butt what Shawn and Belle's choices were becuase those character were completely lobotomized for this story.

This is sick and disgusting and the network should be ashamed of itself for showing the young viewers they so desperately want - a disgusting message. The ends do not justify the means in this case period.

And I don't even want to hear that it's JER and blah, blah, blah. Mimi may have had an abortion and the plot around in deplorable BUT Rex/Mimi's virginity were lost to who the fans wanted them to be lost to, the same goes for Brady and Chloe. Chloe had sex with her supposed soulmate. (sorry to the phloers, I definitely feel your pain). Shawn and Belle were written as one the most sweet, young innocent romances for five long years with a very patient, very loyal, very tolerant fanbase - and it was completely thrown back in our faces for a fricken plot.

oh shut up up about "sending the right message." That is such bull. Are you telling me that every single sitcom, drama or action show or whatever, should all be about young Christian folk upholding strong morals, like waiting until sex for marriage, and not lying, and simply leading a happy go lucky life with God!!! I mean, i know that is an extreme generalization that I just gave, but come on. I mean sure, young people watch DAYS, i started back when I was 13, but it's not like my mind would have been like "Oh, i guess i'll get an abortion like Mimi" or "I guess I'll sleep with my boyfriend's best friend cause i'm lonely...."
I mean, we should give kids more credit than they get, they should be smart enough to know the difference between reality and fiction and if they can't quite comprehend that......THEN DON"T LET THEM WATCH TV!
You know, it is the kids who are sheltered from tv and violence at a young age that end up rebelling and becoming messed up later in life. remember that and remember that this is ONLY A SOAP OPERA!

I do not mean about the morality of the issue, it is just typical of JER who perverts everything. The abortion storyline was not written for any reason other than to create a contrivance to keep Jan around. If JER had wanted to deal with the issues surrounding abortion he would have had Mimi's reasons for having an abortion be realistic. There was no real emotion in her decisions, it was just to keep a boy, and she did not even tell that boy about the baby so it was not like he definitely said abort the baby or lose me as your boyfriend. This sex thing is just typical of the slimebag JER. He has EVERY couple -- except J/J who are never seen -- apart. To do so he comes up with the most idiotic contrivances. It is unrealistic that every couple for tenuous reasons suddenly are unfaithful. Each character had a particular personality, and that personal should dictate how that character reacts to things. Though with JER and his gimmicky, shock value, plot driven style of writing Character A, B, or C will react the same way to the same situation, because it is not about Characters A, B, or C but about the situation. JER is too lazy to construct a series of different stories, nor to write each character with a distinct personality nor bother to research the character's history. All JER does is change history, change the personality of the character to fit his situation. All his stories are the same, and even in them every day is a repetition of the previous day, week, and month. JER seems to enjoy writing stories the more sordid the better, the more idiotic the better. His women are all pathetic or vulagar, he apparently hates males and females in loving relationships. He definitely has a negative bias to older characters -- the only characters he highlights are those males under 30 and who work out. JER is a hack. He writes the opposite of what the fans want because he knows he can get away with it. He prides himself, and publicly states that he does not want to get to know the actors, and that he loves angering the viewers. What mentality is that. Is the mentality of a hack, who has serious issues, and who apparently loves promoting a culture of hate.

I'm not surprised by anything at this point. Let me take that back for just a minute: I'm surprised that there are any viewers that still tune in to Days. If you like it, more power to you. Frankly, I haven't watched in about 3 weeks. Corday also told the longtime viewers to "hang in there" and we would be pleasantly surprised. OK, so I did "hang in there". What did we get? We got veteran actors back that we never see. The real talent goes unnoticed while we're subjected to abortions, and redundant should I/shouldn't I have sex dialogue from shallow, annoying characters we're subjected to every stinking day. So, yeah, I guess I'm a bit surprised that the foursome finally had sex. More than anything, I'm relieved that it's over, and I'm hoping they won't be on every day. It would be nice to move on to something else--and to showcase some other actors for a change.

I am really disappointed with days at the moment...I hate how they made Belle and Shawn throw their morals out the window. I just thought that it was really nice how they were waiting...in this world today, we don't see a whole lot of that. So to see that they did the deed, its just kind of gives less hope to the people who are waiting. So yeah...I HATE that they did the deed. It was poorly written and unmoral.

JERk said months ago that the couples would sleep with each other but not the ones we expected! everyone said it wouldn't be Jan or Phillip. well, he all but gave it away. This is the same guy who always promises a "shocking twist" and never produces for the fact that it always gets leaked anyways, and sometimes he does it himself. also, nothing is suprising on the show at this point. anyone agree?
