Stick to traditional or venture off into fantasy? Or a mixture?

Reality. They can go far, I would be willing to accept body doubles, reappearing dead people, lost twins, even time machines, or ghosts or medaillons, etc. But nothing that could never have happened according to logic etc. People flying, or people who learn to become invisible. Well, if there's a good explanation, they can go there...

Initially I'm probably more attracted to the camp, fantasy and just a little bit of sci-fi. I mean, the only two daytime soaps I've ever watched consistently were "Days" and "Sunset Beach". That was the initial hook. Then if they can keep me with the more traditional storylines with a light mix of camp and fantasy, that's great. So, I'm more into a mixture I guess. The soaps that are all about social issues and more your typical daytime soaps, I find nothing appealing about them. I get bored just watching their promos on SoapNet. I'm sort of growing tired with the world of daytime soaps, though, fantasy and traditional. I find myself rolling my eyes at everything now that has to do with daytime. All those annoying gimmicks they're all guilty of. I haven't received my SOD in a month despite paying for it and I don't even care. Although I really do need to check into that. After that, I might let the mag go for good.

If this is a phase, it's the longest one I've ever been in.

I like fantasy to the extent that no one works but still has way better clothes than I do including the people who are "POOR".

I like the fantasy that half the town can be secret agents.

I like the fantasy that a rapist can have his back story cleaned up and be one of my favorite characters (and that is definitely a fantasy cause NO WAY IN HECK THAT WOULD HAPPEN IN REAL LIFE).

I like that one night can last several weeks and that a kid can go to bed one night and wake up ten years older.

I like suspending my believe and believing that Cancer will always be cured unless the actress quit. I like that this isn't real.

Now, do I like all that supernatual nonsense? For the most part no, although I enjoy the romantic notion of Bo and Hope's psychic bond and that Alice sometimes feels Tom.

I like character driven stories with talented actors, playing multi-dimensional characters. With history and the characters constant, yet evolving naturally. Characters react in nature to situations. If I watch a specifically sci fi or supernatural storyline fine, but when I watch DAYS I do not want those elements in the storylines, especially when those elements are plot driven. I hate DAYS of today, as I hated it during the 90s -- I stopped watching then and barely watch now. Camp is okay occasionally and when it is specifically done as camp, what we have here is not so much purposeful camp but an idiot writer who write hackneyed material which is so pathetic it comes off as camp, when it is not suppose to be camp. The show is a joke, and even the loyal fans are being turned off. So what if a few people like it, there is a serious problem when in some many places so many different people all have the same complaints. If TIIC at NBC do not change their philosophy eventually DAYS will be canceled. That probably is what they want. But I wager, that soon those talk shows and reality shows which they think are great will become boring to the fans. NBC will be the only network without a soap, and that will be a crime -- in its stupidity it already lost the classic AW, next year DAYS will hit the 40 year mark, it is a soap classic.

I like reality much better but only if the characters are given the right stories. Fantasy is ok to a point, but I don't like the sci-fi stuff like superjohn and all that. That's my opinion anyways.
