I was just wondering if Days is planing anything for the 39th coming up in a few weeks, I can't wait till the big 40th! I want flash backs and past returns.
didn't the show air first in October of 1965, so that means that the anniversary date has passed. I know in 1990 for the 25th, they waited until Sweeps -- and it was tied into Katerina's (Carly) birthday and the whole thing with Jennifer and Jack, and the other Salemites in Alamania. I was not watching in 1995 so I do not know what they did. I remember in 1990 the week before they had a different advertisement each day, I believe during DAYS. Each advertisement had a theme, and there was a musical montage of all the classic DAYS episodes. Then for a few DAYS they had everyone stuck in the tunnels under Alamain's villa, and to pass the time everyone shared their remembrances, and we saw flashbacks. Finally the last day there was a musical montage of all the romances (I believe) of the main couples. Somewhere I have tapes one with the promos, and another with the episodes with the remembrances. It would be nice if they do that again. Hopefully before that time, as a Christmas gift, we will get a writer who will return the show to its roots, romance and family, with character driven plots which stay true to the characters' histories and personalities; the writer will go back to listening to the actors and the fans, and will care more about the veterans than the newbies and teens.
