Last I knew this was a discussion board where you can talk about your OPINION like you just did ....why is it that only you are allowed to whine about the whiners? |

then SHOULDN'T THAT BE A CLUE that the show is in fact terrible. If so many folks are complaining, that should be a big flashing neon sign to TPTB that what they have done is angering the fans. Maybe if TPTB listened to the complaints and actually tried to do what the fans wanted this would be a positive board. To blame the fans because so many are not only bored by the stories, but in many cases disgusted by the vulgar, hateful, violent nature of a show which once was about love and friendship, romance and family, does not make sense.
We are complaining in hopes that it elicits a change for the better. However, gradually more and more folks will give up, and once that happens then fewer people will be making negative comments, but also fewer people will be watching. With the ratings already at 2.8, TPTB at DAYS and NBC can ill-afford to alienate more people into not watching.

much offense taken, I'd hate to think that you would just want to come here, and knit everyone a blanket, and have everyone here think the same as you, and have everything all hunky dory all the time, not possible, people do have different opinions, and should have the right to 'whine' about it all they want, just like you have the right to come here and 'whine' about how your knit one isn't coroperating with your purl two
I like the show very much thank you, but I will 'whine' when there is something happening that I don't like, but with respect unlike cough others cough and when I come across posts/threads like this, it makes me sad that you think your opinion should be the only one to be heard, and how much lack of respect you really have for Kim and her site to even bring such a thread to here in the first place
buh-bye |

No offence mates, but Days is ****house ATM. Everyday instead of decent meaningful storylines with people acting in character, the characters we know and love are being turned into clowns performing in a circus! Days is a joke ATM, its bulls-h-i-t and unrealistic.....everyday i laugh when i watch and that is not why i want to watch Days. I want to be excited, i want to look forward to watching something that will make me once again grow interest in the show....but now whenever i watch i feel like an idiot. i feel like James Riley has made decent actors into fools and he insults his audience by making them feel as idiotic as himself. im sorry but this is how i feel...its sad because from the 1990's to the early 2000's i loved the show....but now i feel silly watching it...like an adult watching a children's program...so its time for me to tune in to another show..perhaps the Young and the Reckless...although it is old and boring at least the characters stay true to themselves and day in, day out the writers dont dish out bulls-h-i-t to their viewers. Therfore the reason why Y&R has a larger fanbase than Days.
I think America is a nation of intelligent people not idiots...we wish to see some drama and romance on our soaps...not shoddy sex scenes and cheap ripoffs of movies (castaway, psycho, indiana jones, scream, etc). If Riley wants to get viewers back he should go back and watch the Days of the 1980's and early 90's...then he'll know how to write the proper way for each character.
If Days continues this way, I am sorry but it will indeed be cancelled when the contract is up. When that day comes, it will be a sad and dark day in the history of television, as there will be a part of my life that will be missing as well as a lot of decent actors on the unemployed scrapheap, living on social welfare to feed their families...i feel sorry for all of them

I don't think they care.
Take a peak at the ratings thread on this page. Not only are women tuning out in droves, but many responses made the same points as you Brendan.
I don't think they will change a thing, and DOOL will die a painful, and embarassing death. At least ABC, and CBS soaps have kept some dignity. Can't say the same for NBC. | |
