I taped today's show and discovered there were 7 Flashbacks, 7 commercials, and 28 minutes of actual show! Very surprising.

I've been a fan since 1972 and I'm a newbie to this forum, but I've been reading the posts for months now. I love them and all the spoilers. AlexB where are you? I agree with everyone that this show has been trashed for the past year. Too many triangles. The actors are excellent and I agree with the majority here that the writing is spoiling my favorite soap!

Well, every hour long show is always 38 minutes long. No matter what show you watch, unless of course if it is a special that is commerical-free, it will have the same amount of commericals. All of the Bo and Billie scenes, except on the plane, were newly-created flashbacks. They were taped specially for this episode, so it was 38 minutes of the new show.

All of the flashbacks are really annoying, esp. when you get the same ones over and over again. Every once in a while a quick one is good to catch up viewers who missed somethign important, but under JER it's just gotten to be way too much--it's just lazy storytelling. I swear, there must only be four days worth of episodes produced each week, b/c I'm sure there's enough flashback time each day to compose an entire day's worth. Thankfully I have my trusty Fast Forward!

It's laziness. Pure laziness.

The more flashbacks they use the fewer scenes they have to write.
