All in a lather at 'Ocean's' premiere
By William Keck, USA TODAY
HOLLYWOOD — Like sands through the hourglass, so are the Days of Our Lives. And so was Wednesday night's star-studded black-tie premiere for Ocean's Twelve, a far-out heist caper (opening Friday) with some soapy elements of its own.
Two Ocean's stars share surprising connections to the long-running NBC daytime soap opera. Cast member Julia Roberts, who skipped the premiere to stay home with her newborn twins, is a Days of Our Lives groupie. And Bruce Willis, 49, who pops up in the film as himself, brought Days actress Nadia Bjorlin, 24, as his date.
Bjorlin, who plays the soap's tragically disfigured soprano diva, Chloe Lane, rode to the premiere at Grauman's Chinese Theatre in a limousine with Willis' family.
Ocean's star Matt Damon, who is expected to shoot The Bourne Ultimatum in 2006, did a double take as Bjorlin strutted down the carpet in a shocking red lacy/feathered peekaboo gown designed by Mark Zunino for Nolan Miller. Without acknowledging a romance, Bjorlin, who had her hand on Willis' lap at the after-party, had this to say about her Die Hard hunk: "He's very sexy. Men who look like real men are sexy ... as are a lot of the men in this movie."
Bjorlin's Days co-star Matt Cedeno wasn't working this week and was surprised to learn of the Bjorlin/Willis pairing. "He's a very charismatic guy, and she's a little on the young side," he noted.
Roberts' twins, Phinnaeus and Hazel, are now almost 2 weeks old, and Ocean's cast member Catherine Zeta-Jones has sent along presents. "We got gifts from my friend Patsy's amazing baby shop in New York," the Versace-clad Zeta-Jones said. Though she had to leave the premiere immediately after her red-carpet duties to catch a plane back to the Mexico set of Zorro 2, her husband, Michael Douglas, stayed on for the film and party.
Brad Pitt wasn't talking, and Bernie Mac, who was expected to make his first public appearance since suffering from exhaustion, didn't show.
But the rest of the Ocean's cast explained why they haven't yet sent baby gifts to Roberts:
Damon: "In all fairness, I have a feeling the babies are pretty well covered. Julia would probably rather have me donate a toy to someone else."
Andy Garcia: "I don't even have her phone number."
Don Cheadle: "Seeing as how the babies are mine, I'll have plenty of time to shower them."
George Clooney, whose ruptured disk was still causing him pain, was escorted by two dates — one dressed in black (mom Nina Clooney); the other in white (model/girlfriend Lisa Snowden). Clooney said he gave Roberts the gift of his medical expertise, which he honed during his five seasons playing a doctor on E.R.
"I was with her in the birthing room at the time," Clooney joked. "I played a pediatrician on television and explained to her that I'd only worked on background extras before, but she wanted me there anyway. Fortunately, I left only a very small scar."
All joking aside, Clooney was back in the hospital himself Wednesday morning at 7 a.m. to check the condition of his ruptured disk, which he believes he injured during a fight scene on the set of his upcoming film Syriana. At his side for the checkup was Ocean's producer Jerry Weintraub, who praised Clooney's red-carpet courage: "George is in pain tonight, but he's a real trouper."

What a dress! She's always looked good in red. I still wouldn't personally want a man that much older than me or vice-versa as in Demi's case. |

I actually met Bruce Willis once, and he may be one of the sexiest men to ever breathe, in my most humble and drooling opinion. He was wearing faded Levis and a tight white t-shirt, and I'm still suprised I managed to make a sound, let alone actually form words!
And since the love of my life (David Bowie) is a year younger than my father and I'd still leave my husband for him (and yeah, he knows), I say go for it, Nadia! |

She should really think about taking that dress back from where she got it, it's MISSING ALOT OF FABRIC. But, that is what one would expect of the diva, flaunt and expose it all. |

Nadia is a very sexy, hot, beautiful woman. I think that dress is perfect for her and if I had a body like hers i'd wear it too. She made Matt Damn do a double take and that is cool! |

But I don't think she needs to throw it in everyone's face all the times. I think something more elegant and subtle would more attractive.
Matt Damon gave her a double take..not sure if that is a good thing. We don't know why he had to look twice..admiration or disbelief?
This dress is perfect for Nadia? I wouldn't touch that one with a ten foot pole. |

If I had the body I would dress to leave more to the imagiation. I'm one that is an adventurous one with clothes but only if I had a body to display with it, which I don't. However.. for me, there is a boundary that I will not cross and which does not make me come across as something I am not.
The dress doesn't leave a thing to imagination. It's all there bordering on something in the line of scantily clad. One can still be sexy without having to reveal all to the public.
JMHO.

Hell I'd do a playboy shoot if I had a body like hers and was as flawless as she is. In that dress all the important stuff was covered up. The rest of the skin showing was sexy. Now the dress that I haded was that god awful green Jennifer Lopez dress. I hated those dresses that show the womens cleavage and are open down to their bikini line. Those dresses are horrid. |

I think the dress is stunning...and Nadia looks amazing in it. It isn't actually all that revealing. She is showing much less skin that CZJ was. It's a dress that gives the illusion of showing more that she actually is. There is no sign of any "bits" that shouldn't be showing... |

Nadia can wear whatever she wants and I am sure there were worse dresses at the event. At these Hollywood events, there are always a collection of god awful dresses with body parts hanging out all over.
But I would not wear that dress even if I could. It's one thing to look beautiful and sexy, but it's another to throw your body or the "illusion" of your body in everyone's face. It's just not my cup of tea.
You want to pose for Playboy? I have no problem with it, really. But for me, I would prefer to keep my private parts private. |

Nadia dressed the part. She was the young 24 year old hottie on Bruce's 49 year old arm.
Guess she's shaking the broken engagement blues. She just broke up with her fiance two weeks ago and has already jumped into Willis' lap.
She is a gorgeous girl but I don't get the infatuation with older men. Imagine how she would look next to some hunk closer to her own age?
Ashton and Demi....Bruce and Nadia..... it's laughable if you ask me. The kids want the fame .... the famous want to pretend they are still young. Whatever works for ya!

Girls that dress like that are trying way too hard to get noticed. What else is the motivation?
Nadia has little acting talent; it's all about her looks. Seems like she finally scored some press by playing hot youngster of the month for another aging star who is struggling with getting old.
Does anyone else think she looks like Carmen Electra? She certainly dresses the part.

How do you know when the engagement was broken off? Just because it was only in the soap mags a couple of weeks ago doesn't mean it only happend a couple of weeks ago. She accompanied BW and his children to the premiere...hardly the same as jumping into the guys lap |

Wow talk about catty and bitchy comments. It's really sad when women feel compelled to attack another woman like that. Just shows a ton of insecurity. If she wants to wear this outfit or go out in a paper bag, what business is it of ours? Who are we to stand in judgement of her??? I would love for everyone to post a picture of themselves or a resume for that matter and then we can sit here and make judgements about beauty and talent.
I think she is a stunningly beautiful and intelligent woman. She's well over 21 and she could do with her life whatever she feels like doing. |

Her dress was perfectly appropriate for the event she was at. If you look at some of the others there, she is one of the most covered of the women.
God forbid, someone go to an event with an older man. Maybe she told Bruce that she had a crush on George Clooney or Matt Damon. Maybe she told Bruce that she liked popcorn. We don't know why they went to the event together. I personally would not have turned him down for the chance to be with all those hot guys. |

| Nadia's a talented girl... | December 11 2004, 6:00 PM |
Maybe she needs better acting skills, but don't forget she is a very talented singer, dancer and speaks multi languages. I think she has a great career ahead of her. And she's probably smart to hook up with Bruce Willis that will get more attention on her. I'll bet this is her last stint as Chloe Lane on a soap opera. Who knows how many Hollywood producers saw that picture and are calling her up for job interviews right now. Go NADIA!!! |

My view. Nadia is stunningly gorgeous as usual. Drat her all. The dress did seem in more of the risqué style seen at the Oscars than perhaps premiers based on what most of the other attendees I saw in the pictures were wearing. Ok except for that one “gal” and that was in a street corner class all by itself. :o I would wish for a little less flank showing and a few more flowers across the top but at least everything was covered by fabric even if it was sheer. But as a calculated attention getter it worked quite well. Is that article in a paper that would normally be expected to cover the movie stars before the soap stars? |

What's with all the hoopla? Nadia was simply gorgeous at the premier; the dress in ?, if you look closely covered her quiet well, she was wearing one of those stick on bras underneath that covered more than most bikinis. It's only an illusion that she's showing all that much. So, her face, hair and figure are flawless and that is all that I could see revaled by her choice of attire and as opposed to some of the others she did exude an aura of class that the others were clearly lacking. Whenever it comes to talent; well let's just say that being classicly trained in voice and opera, playing several instruments and speaking several languages beauty pagents etc.,as well as being hand picked for the part of Chloe (which was her first tv part) may not be considered as talent by some. In my opinion, that is one gifted and talented woman, everything that most women wish to be! |

As eye cathcing as the dress was (great colour, loved the encrusted collar and the feathered hem!), it is the glow on Nadia's face that draws my attention the most - that is a killer smile she has! |

Gotta give it to Nadia....she may just be one smart cookie.
We heard nothing about her when she left DAYS. She struggled finding any meaningful work. Everyone said she was working on a CD but was it ever released?
Perhaps Nadia has figured out the Hollywood scene. All it took was a shocking dress and a date with a much older actor. You have to admit - love or hate the move - she's finally getting noticed.

Nadia is craving attention and did want to be noticed. She did indeed accomplish that. Personally, for me, there are other ways to get "noticed", just arriving on BW's arm and with his family should have been enough. HE was supposed to be more of the focus as far as guests go, instead, the little "hottie" on his arm is getting all the press. So, her choice in dress managed to shift the attention from her "escort" to herself. We could all debate all day on did the dress reveal too little or too much, everyone has different fashion tastes. Nadia just seems to trend to making each succeeding outfit for each PA a bit more "revealing" or "illusionary" than the last. Sooner or later, she is going to leave nothing to the imagination and that is completely sad, as a beautiful young woman she should not feel so compelled to go that route. She's perfectly capable of being able to reach her goal of notice and attention without the extra trappings of a "shocking" outfit.
Touching just briefly on the comment that anyone that had a problem with Nadia's outfit being "insecure" or "jealous". That might ring true for some, but, quite honestly, believe it or not, that is not always the case, I am very comfortable with who I am, how I look and I am not by any means, as slim and curvy as Nadia. We all come in different shapes in sizes, what each has to learn is how to present the body type they were given in the most attractive manner. The liking of that dress or the not liking of that dress in my case, is that it wasn't necessary to be dressed in such a manner for someone of her beauty and body type. Nothing more, nothing less.
Nadia is beautiful, she is a talented singer, I would love to see her put more effort into her acting. Hooking up with an acting coach and really putting some true effort into perfecting her acting since that seems to be the avenue she wants to pursue. Then, at least from most individuals standpoint, she'd "have it all". JMO |

She has been working on her CD and hopes to release it early in 2005. She was working with Barnev Valsaint (who is a back-up singer with Celine Dion). He was very complimentary about Nadia is theis article:

I have to say I am shocked by some of the attitudes on this board. Nadia revealed nothing. As someone else said, it was an "illusion". I'm not saying that revealing alot should necessarily just be accepted, but in this day and age ... people are wearing WAY more revealing clothes than what Nadia did.
It also seems that people are feeling that she is only dating Bruce Willis to further her career... what?? Geez, judgmental much? |

looks great on her, but I don't think it's something that would be worn to a movie premiere. The Golden Globes yes, the Oscars yes, the Emmys yes --- a MOVIE PREMIERE.....no. Cocktail dress...sure..but that gown? No.
It DID look great - but you have to admit it does make you wonder if she was trying to make a statement. The girl could've gone in a bag and she would look great. |

There were several ladies in cocktail dresses, but also quite a few in full length gowns. I'm sure I saw Matt Damon and Brad Pitt joke on TV that Brad was under-dressed because it was a black tie event. |

I think she looked good and personally I think a lot of ppl on here are just jealous. So what she got put into the spotlight. Good for her. A girl's gotta do what a girl's gotta do. I however don't think that she intentionally went there with BW just to get in the spotlight. And BW didn't have to invite her if he just wanted to go with his family. There are many many young women that date older men in Hollywood. I don't understand why it's such a big deal. I have seen women dressed in practically nothing at all kinds of social events. I think her dress looked beautiful and it went well with the event. Does it matter if it was too much? I don't think so. But everyone is entitled to their opinion and this was mine. |

like you said, everyone is entitled to their opinion. If you think Nadia looked great and wore a great dress, good for you! I respect your right to feel that way.
But with all due respect, I think it's a little out of line to say people must be jealous of Nadia if they do not agree with you.
I mean maybe they just don't care for the dress or they think it was inappropriate for that type of event or maybe they think someone as beautiful as Nadia would be look better in a different style dress.
Don't they have the right to their opinion as well without being accused of being jealous? |

Content with my life
| Re: I respect your right to your opinon.. | December 12 2004, 9:00 PM |
I'm perfectly content with my appearance and I am not in the least jealous of anything that Nadia may or may not have. We each make of our lives what we choose. Having an opinion about attire, conduct etc., is going to vary from individual to individual, we are all entitled to that opinion. My opinion that the dress was too much for the occaison and not flattering to Nadia would have been true even if any other actress had been wearing it.
I have enough self-confidence in myself to not be bothered by what others do. Overall, in re-reading this thread, imo, no one here is speaking out of jealousy but rather expressing their personal taste toward the dress in question and the "message" it conveyed. That message being different to each individual.
There is not "right" or "wrong" with regards to this topic and even if Nadia or anyone in her immediate circle should read what is written, honest feedback should be appreciated and taken into consideration. If she didn't want that, then, she wouldn't put herself in the position for it to be spoken of. |
