The soap world is on hiatus for the annual break for the holidays. Most of the daytime shows take approximately two weeks off so their people can celebrate and spend time with loved ones. The shows start pre-taping extra days in advance throughout the year so there is no interruption for viewers.
Recently I polled some of your favourites about their plans for Christmas, New Year's and also what's on their personal Santa lists. You may be surprised by some of their responses.
Alison Sweeney, Days of Our Lives' Sami is expecting her first child next year, so this is a very special time in her life.
"I just want my baby to be born healthy and to spend quality time with my family," she said.
"My holiday plans are to divide my time between my family and my husband Dave's family."
Kyle Brandt (Phillip, Days) is heading back to Chicago. to be with his relatives. He will hook up with a cast-mate while there.
"I'm supposed to join Bryan Dattillo (Lucas) in Indiana for bow-and-arrow deer hunting (Indiana is a short drive from Illinois)," he exclaimed.
As far as his Santa list goes, he told me, "Anything and everything for my new house, from place mats to towels to a welcome mat, anything."
He went on to say, "For New Year's, I'm supposed to do something with my co-stars and friends Farah Fath (Mimi, Days) and Eric Winter (Rex, Days)."
Fath is going home to Kentucky to be with her folks.
"Christmas Eve is spent with my dad's family and Christmas Day is spent with my mom's relatives at my aunt Vicki's house. We have two Christmas trees, one for the adults and one for the kids. Presents are always stacked waist-high under both trees."
