You are right about that. PFC's do NOT lead men into combat or lead special forces missions. Usually an officer or a senior NCO is the leader. And just for the record, Phil is NOT a soldier as called by his commanding officer. A Marine is NEVER a soldier. A Marine is a Marine! I know this because my hubby is retired Navy and we used to live on a Marine base.
And I can guarantee you some PFC would not be reporting to the Pentagon in person about his mission unless everyone else got killed.
the bravest of the brave......the noblest of the noble.........the honorablest (LOL don't think that's a word!) of the honorable......who has spent a whopping 3 days on base since his enlistment, and who was fired from the ISA! Who else could lead this dangerous mission? (Insert sarcasm)

Maybe they are going to decide he wasn't really fired from the ISA, maybe they will claim is rank is higher than he pretends because of a mission? Maybe that is how they will justify this nonsense?

I really wish the writers would do a little research when it comes to things like this and medical situations. They could make it so much more realistic if they would just a little web surfing. Learn about the medical condition before you air it's consequences on national tv, learn about the marine corp before you humiliate them on tv. who do they think they are fooling anyway ? I swear I think they think we are a bunch of idiots watching the show that no nothing about the military, nothing about medicine, nothing about nothing.
I also wish the writers would do even a modicum of research

One of my favorites was the "trial" of Rex that Belle had Shawn lead because he was "pre-law." For one thing, pre-law is any undergraduate major; there's no such thing as a pre-law major. It really means that you intend to apply for law school after you get your undergraduate degree. For another thing, you don't really do practice court until you're an upperclassman in law school -- Shawn was many, many steps removed from having any notion of how to conduct a trial. I really wanted to slap the writers around on that one.
to make that work the other soldiers would have to be in on it, right? why else would any of his fellow soldiers follow him? i guess he's proven while he was back in the states so long before being shipped off that he is a born leader - lol???!!!
Werd about a Marine being a Marine, not a soldier.
Plus, I didn't see any rank insignia on them either. Another no-no.
It doesn't matter, though. Once I heard that one of those guys was called Lt. Bilbo, I just lost any real interest I had left in this show. Next thing you know Capt. Sam, and Major Frodo will be introduced to us.
getting ready to lead a dangerous mission, he would not be calling around for his wife in the heat of battle. I think KB was fooling himself by saying military wives were sending him notes that said "thank you" for portraying the servicemen so realistically. I think many a military spouse saw the scenes of him calling his spouse and griping because he only got one night with his new wife, that these spouses were probably disgusted as I am. This show is horrible.
that he would never be respected in the military, police, or any profession dominated by men. Rex is the best choice of any curreny character to play this role. Shawn and Philip just don't have the "right stuff" to play any role other than boyfriend.
The unit of being delusional. No private in any division leads a special operation. And also Rex being the best one for this mission? Yeah maybe after he quits looking like the village idiot and cooing over that damn baby!! I want him as far away from a gun as he can get.
