I didn't know they were being announced today.

I'm unphased. It doesn't matter to me anymore. Besides, are they really that big of a deal? The TV audience for the Daytime Emmys dwindles down more and more every year. They get very little or no media attetention at all. People outside of the soap world could care less. Nothing great happens for these shows or their actors once they win. It's forgotten the next day. It's all political. "Days" will never stand a chance. It's not a case of sour grapes, it's just something I've come to realize. It's all good. All good.

Good luck to nominees. It's important to them. Let them indulge.

I don't want to start any trouble, but why does passions get at least one nomination in the major category, Days always gets shut out. They some very good actorss at Days I think Ali Sweeny should be nominated for Supporting or lead actress.

Here is from days who desrves and emmy

Dedee Hall Marlena Evans Black
Ali Sweeney Sami brady
Braind Dattillo Lucas Roberts
They young kid that plays will, he had some great stuff the this with Ali and Brain
Alos Kyle Lowder and nadia bjorlin
and finally Drake Hogestion he always does a very good job.
TWO FROM farah Faith and Judi Evans

sorry about my typos, I am very upset by this! I may boycott the emmys this yr unless anyone from days will be presenting? Days has the biggest fan base in all of soaps, we always get locked out. its the same darn shows and the same people every year. I also watch Amc but Days is my fav, and I am pissed that Susan luuci was also robbed of an emmy nomination.

Can anyone honestly think that any Days actor deserves an award? Before you get all worked up it's not because of them being bad actors well some of them are, but for the most part they didn't get nominated because of the lousy writers. Maybe this will wake up NBC that there needs to be a change. Get writers that write to the strengths of the actors and maybe they will get recognition. Don't blame politics blame the writers!!

Oh please! Maybe part of it but Dool hasn't won a major award since the 70s or 80s! YOu can't blame that on Reilly

they didn't even win awards back in the "GOOD OLD DAYS"...

Where's Missy Reeves' Emmy? Matthew Ashford's Emmy? Kristian Alfonso's Emmy? Deidre Hall's Emmy? I'm talking from the 80s and early 90s when everyone said the show was so good. Where are those Emmys?

Nadia needs an emmy?

March 2 2005, 4:18 PM

Uh, has she been on this year? She was wrapped in a mummy scarf for some episodes, nothing at all even deserving close to an emmy. Kyle Lowder has done absolutely nothing on the show, his past few scenes with Drake have been okay but surely nothing award winning.

What a snub for Deidre Hall!! It's ridiculous that she didn't get a nomination!!

Do you think that maybe DAYS doesn't get the award nominations from their peers at the Emmys and never did because they are so popular with the fans? There was a time when they won all the SOD awards and they still did very well this year with SOD awards.

Maybe the voters are holding a grudge against these actors and that's part of the reason why DAYS actors very rarely get nominated. Or maybe not. I'm sure that the actors reputation or other emotions do play a part in these nominations and always did and will.

I agree with whoever mentioned the writing being the main reason. It really doesn't matter how good the actors are (Judi Evans, Lauren Koslow, Alison Sweeney always ALWAYS deliver stellar performances as far as I'm concerned) but their storylines are ridiculous. I doubt voters can sit through those horribly written scenes in order to appreciate the acting. I for one always have the difficult task of watching my favorite soap actress (Judi) play her character (whose antics drive me up the wall) very very well...she's amazing, but her character is the pits. It's very conflicting. I would drop DAYS right away if Judi left. More to the point, sometimes I wish she would leave the show just so I wouldn't have to watch that crap.

When Passions gets more nominations than DAYS it's time for a change.

I would like to add that I love Juliet Mills as Tabitha. When I happen to pause on Passions for a moment, if she is on I will watch her scenes because I think the character is cute - but how she got a nomination is beyond me. I'm happy for her. But I just don't get it. Maybe voters thought she was cute too.

In my opinion..

March 3 2005, 5:35 AM

Days did not get any nominations for two reasons.

First of all, NBC rarely gets any nominations or wins period. NBC has only two soaps on their schedule, while ABC has 3 and CBS has 4. What that means is there are more CBS people voting than ABC people and more ABC people voting than NBC people. It's hard to get past those basic numbers.

Not to say that the judging is totally biased and political but if you work at CBS and know more actors and have already seen their work, etc at CBS..you are more likely to vote for them. NBC can never compete..the awards they get are always few and far between, even in "good years" when the scripts are fabulous and dynamic.

But top it off, this year is a year where people are complaining about how poor so many of the Days scripts are. I think there are many many talented Days actors but I can't think of many scenes that would be considered "emmy worthy" for most of them. It doesn't matter that they are doing a great job. The material is not great, the scenes do not stand up on their own, and they do not show off their talents to judges.

The actors are not judged on the whole of their work..they are judged on one or two scenes that they are allowed to submit. If they scenes themselves are not fabulous, the actors have even a smaller chance than they might normally have.

I agree with Kim..the emmy's don't mean much. But at the same time, while intellectually I am sure the actors agree, it must be nice to be recognized so I am sure it can't be a happy day at the Days studio.
