I agree with you. I have thought that JER was trying to kill Days for quite sometime.

to be honest....i think, that was NBC'S plan all along.....remember, the original reason given foe the firings was: to CUT costs....even corday's asst. got the BOOT....or so the story goes.....it was NBC who wanted JER back, as HEAD WRITER....they knew, he could write a story that would INCLUDE ALL or MOST od the cast.....but, when the fans got pissed, because their favorites were getting killed off.....corday, probably went over his head....and said: "YOU HAVE TO DO SOMETHING....AND FAST"....so, they bring back the dead....but, only use them as little as posible....especialy those, that JER doesn't seem to like.

this is all imo, of course.

"When the five years is up shortly" -- ?? Wasn't Days given a multi-year renewal earlier this year? I'm pretty sure it was.

The cover article in the April 12 issue of SOD is interesting, because Stephanie Sloane asks Corday about the latest ratings slump and what they're doing to counteract it. Recommended reading!

I think the show was renewed last year for five years bringing it to 2009. Now we just need to get rid of JER. The article itself seemed to leave more questions than answers. There is always a certain vagueness in all of Corday's interviews. He never seems to get it.
