They finished the picnic and then Shawn and Belle just sat on the blanket and watched Tommy plat on the slides with other children. He seemed to be getting along with the other kids so well. Belle looked over at Shawn and smiled.
“You were really great with him Shawn,” she commented.
“Well, I love kids and I have experience with them because of JT. You know they are only two years apart. Maybe they can play together sometime,” suggested Shawn.
“Yeah, that’s a great idea. Tommy loves playing with other kids. I was going to go and see your parents sometime soon.”
“Well, why don’t I take you to see them tomorrow?”
“That would be great.”
“You know, I feel like playing a little. I’m going to go join Tommy.”
Belle watched as Shawn and Tommy ran around with the other kids having fun. Belle heard the voice of someone she hasn’t seen in five years from behind her.
“He’s really great with kids, isn’t he?” said the voice and Belle turned around to see Hope standing there with a six-year-old JT beside her. Belle stood up and looked at Hope with a smile. She didn’t look a bit older than the last time Belle saw her.
“Yeah, he is,” said Belle.
“I can’t believe you’re back,” said Hope and she pulled Belle into a hug. Hope had always thought of Belle as a daughter.
“I missed you.”
“Well, me and everyone else here missed you.”
Belle pulled away and looked at Hope. They both had tears glistening in their eyes. “I’m sorry I didn’t say good-bye.”
“Hey Fancy Face. Sorry it took me so long to park,” said Bo as he came up from behind them.
“Hey Mr. Brady,” said Belle and Bo looked at her shocked.
“Your back. I can’t believe it,” said Bo and Belle was pulled into yet another hug.
“Believe it. I came back to open an inn with a friend of mine.”
“Wow! That’s great,” commented Hope. She then bent down to JT’s level. “JT, this is Belle. Remember me telling you about her?”
JT nodded and said a quiet hi to Belle. Shawn and Tommy then came to join them.
“What are you guys doing here?” asked Shawn.
“We came to bring JT to the park and ended up getting a rather pleasant surprise,” said Bo.
“Hope, Bo, JT, this is my son Tommy. Tommy these are Shawn’s parents Mr. and Mrs. Brady and this is his brother JT.”
“Hi there,” said Hope and Bo lo0oked shocked yet again.
“Hi. Do you want to go play?” Tommy asked JT and he nodded. The two kids ran to the slides.
“Was he conceived from that night?” asked Bo and Belle nodded.
“Oh, you poor thing,” said Hope and she hugged Belle again.
“I’m happy,” said Belle. “Tommy is a great kid and I couldn’t be any prouder of him.”
Shawn’s cell phone rang and he excused himself to go answer it.
“Hello......Oh, hi Marlena.......Are you sure that’s a good idea.........I just don’t know if Belle’s ready.......Well, if your sure.......okay then, Bye,” Shawn clicked the end button on his phone and returned to the others.
