I need help finding a Glitter and be Gay type piece.
This is delightful pieces of musical systems integration was engineered for Beverly Sills by her coach Roland Gagnon.
I am in doubt as to whether sheet music exists anywhere for the Gagnon medley - but it certainly exists for the numerous aria and song excerpts that Gagnon so cleverly wove together to create this "aria", so you could probably "reconstruct" the work, or something close to it, yourself. (Just make sure your accompanist can hold a tune...you'll understand why around 4:45 into the aria.)
I suspect that if anyone knew how to get hold of "Sillsiana" sheet music, it would be Glendower Jones. - www.classicalvocalrep.com
Some other possibilities:
Karl Millöcker:
Der arme Jonathan
- "Ach, wir armen primadonnen"
P.D.Q. Bach (Peter Schickele):
The Stoned Guest
- "Now is the season" (Carmen Ghia's Act I aria)
(aria starts at 6:33)
Victor Herbert:
The Enchantress
- "Art is Calling Me (I want to be a prima donna)"
Jacques Offenbach:
Les contes d'Hoffmann
- Les oiseaux dans la charmille
Lerner & Loewe:
The Simple Joys of Maidenhood
