I remember the one for private buses

This was the break-up of the private buses actually. Because in my neighborhood in Queens, in order to transport people, people started running dollar vans. So you didn't really miss the buses. When the buses came back, the MTA had more routes so it was fine even with the additional vans, but the private routes lost a lot of money to the vans which were there to stay. Eventually MTA took them over and they exist no more. I don't remember the transit strike with the subway though.

We are in the first day of a strike here in Philadelphia of SEPTA.
