Hi Native Long Islanders! I am looking to feature local talent for my articles in the Long Island Examiner. If you are interested, please send me a copy of your resume and headshot and please answer these questions.
What part of long island are you from?
When did you realize you wanted to sing?
What sacrifices have you made for your "craft?"
What is your proudest moment as a performer?
What is the most embarrassing thing (that you can share) that has happened to you onstage?
Where can we come see you (preferably in the NY Metro area) in the near future
I am looking to do one a week for a while so you just might be chosen. I will try to feature singers that will have upcoming things in the area first as a way to build an audience. Thanks! Publicity is always good. Hope this helps.
How are you?
Thank you for doing this.
I am a professional Opera singer just graduated from BU with a Master of Music and I am pursuing my career in NY now. I live in my house in LI in Westbury and I am doing a concert in Dec.and I would like to see if you can help me bring some people in. What's your email. Ill answer the questions and send them to your emails once you write me back.
Thanks for the opportunity to be featured. I have been a Cantor and now, opera singer for 25, originally from Bellmore Long Island, where my Dad served as Rabbi.
I worked my way through music school (Aaron Copland, Queens College) and recorded a Jewish Jazz CD, Time for Moshiach. I produced Marriage of Figaro last year offering singers an opera-tunity to sing roles in Italian and am now covering the role of Leporello in Don Giovanni with Regina Opera.
I have sung the great song-cycles in German including Winterreise and Dichterliebe at Le Frak Hall.
I am currently a doctoral candidate in Jewish Education and Administration at Yeshiva University.
An upcoming performance with my wife, Shira Flam, will be in Longwood Public Library early February. (I will check details again.)
