- Denomination (i.e., Protestant, Catholic, Jewish, etc.)
- Location (i.e., big church/small church/reception hall)
- General congregational level (i.e., wealthy, not-so-wealthy, or downright poor)
That being said, it has always been my rule to have a set level/fee, with 'additional' numbers bumping up the price accordingly.
If you're just getting started doing weddings here, you might not feel comfortable asking for $X-fee, but don't sell yourself short - if you're doing the work, you deserve to get paid (and so does your accompanist)!!!
I would say, start at $200 and go up from there.
Also, do whatever possible to ensure you get paid BEFORE the ceremony/service, i.e., state in a friendly manner that you get paid before, which will lessen the angst and panic of everyone come The Big Day (and ensure that YOU aren't running around trying to hunt down the best man or whoever has your check).
Good luck & let us know what develops.
