ABOUT THE VENUE
This concert marks our second appearance at the historic Snug Harbor Cultural Center. One of New York City's finest hidden treasures, Snug Harbor is only a short, gorgeous ferry ride from lower Manhattan. A nineteenth-century home for retired sailors, and now a Smithsonian Affiliate, Snug Harbor houses such attractions as the Newhouse Center for Contemporary Art and many other exhibits. Just adjacent is the Staten Island Botanical Garden, which will be in stunning full bloom on May 17th. For more information please visit www.snug-harbor.org.
DIRECTIONS
Getting to Snug Harbor is easier than you may think! And it includes one of the best little adventures in the world, and a FREE one at that: a trip on the Staten Island Ferry! Ferries run every 1/2 hour from the Whitehall Terminal in Lower Manhattan, which is accessible by all of the following:
1 train to South Ferry
4,5 trains to Bowling Green
R train to Whitehall St.
J,Z trains to Broad Street
When you arrive at the St. George Terminal, follow the signs for the S40 Bus, which will take you along Richmond Terrace. The ride is only about 8 minutes, and very direct. Just tell the driver you'd like to get off at Snug Harbor. Enter through the main gate, and follow the signs to the Visitor's Center, which is building "C". Veterans Memorial Hall is building "S", just behind the Music Hall ("T").
As always, visit www.5BMF.org for more info.
We hope to see you on May 17th!
