In honor of the retirement of Max van Egmond from the faculty of Oberlin Conservatory's Baroque Performance Institute, the BPI Orchestra and Chorus present

Handel's "Te deum"

Soloists:

MrAlto, alto
Scott Mello, tenor
Max van Egmond, bass

BPI Chorus, MrAlto, chorus master
BPI Orchestra, Kenneth Slowik, conductor

8 pm
Warner Concert Hall
Conservatory of Music
Oberlin College
Oberlin OH

First half to include other works by Handel.

Scott sang like a god... I turned two pages but kept going for 12 measures until I found my place by following the violin line trilling to cover the slight time lag in following them... some seemed not to know but I was sh***** my pants until I got back on track... an interesting experience...

Max, as always, sang brilliantly (he is in his middle 70's). He is truly the example.
