if only because the WORD "socialist" strikes knee-jerk-reaction fear into the heart of many, to whom it means "Soviet-style, line-up-for-your-dinner, Mother Russia communist".

Oy.

When people are afraid of SWEDEN as a political model because of it's "socialism" (and yes, I have heard this), you know it's a mess. I mean really - who wouldn't be terrified of great medicine, a fabulous education system and an extremely high standard of living? That's scary stuff, man. /sarcasm
