the sooner she is plunged back into obscurity the better

I hope we never hear from her again after the resignation goes into effect. I think she is the sorriest excuse for a politician/statesperson I have ever seen. The scariest thing about it, like you said, is that even after quitting as governor people still think she is a viable candidate for President. Give me a break. Even if one agrees with her politics and doesn't think she is an idiot, one would have to admit that it was not a wise move, nor does it show much consistency to step down from being a governor before your term is up, giving no clear or rational reason.
