Roommate Needed!! Right near the Red Line into Boston!

Once again, I am left searching for a roommate. My current one is moving in with her boyfriend and will be out of the place fully by July 1st (or so she promised). So, the room is opening July 1st, but the date can be a little flexible. I would prefer a female roommate but could be flexible in that as well. Move in is ASAP!!! happy.gif

It's a 3 BR in Somerville, 12 minutes walk (on the Bike Path) to Davis Square and 15 minute walk to Porter Square. There is on-street parking, but you don't really need a permit (it's easy to get one if you want).

Rent is $1275 total, divided between two roommates! The third bedroom is being used as a sort of Guest Room/Office.

The apartment is on the second floor and has a front deck, complete with grape-vines that actually do bear fruit! I'm told that the grapes can't ripen fully because our frosts come too soon, but I've eaten the grapes and they're not bad!

The bedroom in question is sunny, fits a Queen-sized bed and some furniture, and has a cute closet. The rest of the apartment is pretty much furnished, but I am hoping to work on some organization and even get a new couch soon. The kitchen is large with TONS of cabinet space, the usual kitchen furniture, and a dishwasher (also, tons of plants on the windowsill!).

I do have two very sweet cats who have the roam of the apartment (but not the room that is to be rented out...unless that is the roommate's choice). One is nearly 12 and is incredibly sweet, but rather shy. Once she warms up to you though, she's great. The other is a little over 2 years old and still thinks he's a kitten! He loves to play and loves attention. No other pets please.

The bathroom isn't huge, but it has the usual bathroom accoutrements, including a bathtub/shower.

The rent doesn't cover utilities, which kind of sucks in the winter, but it's gas heat and we do have a programmable thermostat which helps some. Electricity isn't terribly high, the phone/cable/internet (wireless router) is split along with the gas bill.

As for me, I'm an early-30-something Administrative Assistant at Perkins School for the Blind by day and an Opera singer in my free time. I don't often practice at home, though. I have a Theatre degree from Brandeis and a M.M in Opera Performance from The Boston Conservatory. I'm not the neatest person, but I do try to keep my messes contained in my own room with little overflow into the common areas. I am originally from Virginia and still think of myself as being Southern even though I've been in MA since 1993. I don't smoke ever (the singing, you know) and I drink VERY occasionally. I'm not a huge party person, and I'm not much of a cook, but I do love to eat. I'm usually never home long enough to cook myself meals...but I do know how and on occasion I can be found to make popovers or lasagna (or in the summer, Key Lime Pie!). I'm a huge tea afficionado and an avid knitter but I also love wandering around Boston when the weather is good.

This is a non-smoking apartment!

Feel free to send me an email with any questions!
