Probably the same as for any audition. You want to look nice, but not "over the top." Seriously, I have seen women wear what looked like prom or bridesmaid dresses. Yikes!
I have also seen students audition in jeans and sneakers. I really like the sweater over the hands look. Makes you look like the victim of a tragic farming accident! And thank heavens the "Frankenstein" shoes look has passed! It was so ludicrous seeing students "clomp, clomp, clomp" across the stage.
